Pastor Micah and First Lady Lauren met at Evangel Fellowship in New Member’s Orientation Classes in 2007. They were joined together in holy matrimony in 2011 with a prayer of blessing over them by Bishop Otis Lockett Sr. and Bishop A.P. Huggins. After more than a decade of devoted membership, they launched a church plant under Pastor Otis Lockett Jr.
Not only are they leaders in ministry they are effectively thriving in the marketplace. Micah has a Juris Doctorate from UNC-Chapel Hill, and Lauren has a Nursing degree from NC A&T State University. Micah is an attorney with a thriving practice based in Greensboro, and Lauren is a registered nurse currently in graduate school completing clinical to become a midwife.
They have three beautiful children and are believing that the best is yet to come!
With a passion and zeal for the lost, hurting and unloved people, we are here to build bridges and develop relationships to frame individuals character and self esteem. This church is looking for ways to show love to a cynical and jaded society. We aim to take a different approach in reaching out and helping people along their journey. We stress cultural relevancy and utilize all media and means to communicate the church message.
Lead people to Jesus Christ
Love them to Maturity (wholeness)
Equip them to Leave a Legacy
Lead, Love, & Leave a Legacy
Abiding Love is a Bible-based church. That means we seek to believe and practice what is explicitly taught in the Bible. Based on the Bible, we believe the following:
There is only one God. The One God has revealed Himself to us as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and through the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the One God manifested in and through authentic human life. To see Jesus is to see God. (Deut 6.4; John 14.9; Eph 4.4-6; Col 2.9; 1 Tim 3.16).
The Bible is God’s Word. It is inspired by the Holy Spirit and guides us in all matters of life.
Sin separates us from God, but salvation is God’s gift to us to redeem us from sin. It is available to anyone who confesses the Lord Jesus with their mouth and believes that God has raised Him from death to life.
Water baptism is a symbol of the cleansing power of God and a testimony of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
That the Holy Spirit is our Comforter. He guides us in all areas of our lives. He also blesses us with spiritual gifts and empowers us to yield the fruit of the Spirit.
Holy Communion is a celebration of Jesus’ death and our remembrance of Him.
That God wants to transform, heal, and provide for us to live blessed and victorious lives that will impact and help others.
That we are called to preach the gospel (Good News) to all nations.
That our Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again just as He promised.
Our values can be summed up in ONE word: LOVE!
Vertical reach to touch God. We LOVE God through worship.
Serving is a act to bless others. We serve God by serving others.
Outward reach can change our community. We have to be bold and courageous. Jesus commaned us to go into the entire world and present the good news!
