On October 25, 1998, an 18-year-old freshman at UNCG gave his life to Jesus Christ. He was a first-year student in Greensboro, like a lot of people reading this page.
Today he is Pastor and Prophet Micah Huggins, and he leads Abiding Love Church a few minutes from the campus where his faith began.
College is where a lot of people quietly stop going to church. Nobody wakes you up. Nobody notices. Pastor Micah knows that season from the inside, because it is the season in which God met him. He and his wife, Prophetess Lauren Huggins, pastor Abiding Love together, and they both stay after service to meet the people who came for the first time.
That is not a program. It is just what they do every Sunday. And if you have drifted since you got to Greensboro, you have not drifted too far to walk back in on a Sunday afternoon.
Worship starts at 2:00 in the afternoon. Sleep in on Sunday. Grab food. Then come downtown. The service runs about 90 minutes to two hours. The church is prophetic, and the Bible is preached from the King James Version.
Sometimes God puts an encouraging word on the pastors’ hearts for a specific person. When that happens, they may ask that person to stand or come forward so they can share it personally. A pastor might also ask if you would like prayer, and you can say no.
An offering is taken during service. As a guest, you will never be asked personally for money.
Downtown is close to campus. When you arrive, enter on John Wesley Way; a greeter is at the door. Street parking is available on West Market Street, John Wesley Way, West Friendly Avenue and Commerce Place.
If you are riding the bus, Greensboro Transit Agency routes link UNCG and downtown. Check the GTA Sunday schedule before you go.
Bible Study meets on Zoom at 7:15 p.m. on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursdays of each month. It is an easy way to stay rooted during exam weeks, when Sunday feels far away.
Registration is optional. Filling out the Plan a Visit form simply lets us know you are coming.
