She has been on campus long enough to know the way to class without thinking about it. What she has not found yet is a church. On Saturday night, with her roommate asleep, she opens her phone and searches for one close to Bennett.
Abiding Love Church is about a mile away, in downtown Greensboro.
Bennett sits just east of downtown, so getting to church on Sunday does not take much of your day at all. And because worship starts at 2:00 in the afternoon, you can sleep in, get ready at your own pace, and still be on time. Plan for about 90 minutes to two hours.
Abiding Love is led by Pastor and Prophet Micah Huggins and Prophetess Lauren Huggins. Prophetess Lauren is co-pastor, serving right alongside her husband. Both of them stay after every service to meet guests, so you will have a chance to talk with them before you leave.
Pastor Micah came to faith at 18, as a college freshman in this same city.
We are prophetic, and the Bible is preached from the King James Version. We would rather you know a few things now than be surprised later. If God puts an encouraging word on the pastors’ hearts for someone, they may ask that person to stand or come forward so they can share it personally. A pastor may ask whether you would like prayer, and you can say no. An offering is taken, but no one will ever ask you personally for money.
Enter on John Wesley Way. A greeter is at the door. If you drive, look for street parking on West Market Street, John Wesley Way, West Friendly Avenue or Commerce Place.
If you plan to take the bus, Greensboro Transit Agency routes connect your side of town with downtown. Check the GTA Sunday schedule before you leave.
On the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursdays of the month, Bible Study meets at 7:15 p.m. on Zoom. You can join from campus without going anywhere.
You do not have to sign up to visit. If you use the Plan a Visit form, we will know you are coming. And if a friend from your hall has been looking for a church too, bring her.
