Micah Huggins was an eighteen-year-old freshman at UNCG when he gave his life to Christ on October 25, 1998. He knows what it means to meet God in the middle of a college semester, far from settled and still figuring out who he is. Today he is Pastor and Prophet Micah Huggins, and with his wife, Prophetess Lauren Huggins, he leads Abiding Love Church, about half a mile down West Market Street from Greensboro College.
From campus, head east on West Market Street toward downtown. You stay on the same street the whole way. Enter on John Wesley Way, and a greeter will be at the door. If you drive, street parking is on West Market Street, John Wesley Way, West Friendly Avenue and Commerce Place.
Two in the afternoon is a gift to a college schedule. Sleep in after a long week. Get lunch with friends. You can still make it to church.
Service runs about ninety minutes to two hours. We worship, we pray, and the Bible is preached from the King James Version. Lauren studied psychology and then nursing at N.C. A&T, and Micah found Jesus at UNCG. Both pastors know Greensboro’s campuses from the inside.
We meet inside a United Methodist church building, but Abiding Love is its own congregation, and a prophetic one. In plain terms, we believe God still speaks to His people today. If God puts an encouraging word on the pastors’ hearts for someone, they may ask that person to stand or come forward so they can share it personally. A pastor may also ask whether you’d like prayer. You are always free to say no.
An offering is taken during service. Nobody will ask you personally for money.
After service, both pastors stay to meet guests. Stay a few minutes, ask a question, or just say hello.
Bible Study meets on Zoom on the first, third and fifth Thursdays at 7:15 p.m. Join from your dorm room, the library or anywhere else.
